What We Do

As your state-designated community action agency, CSC is here to help. We offer a number of services in Linn, Benton, and Lincoln counties. These services focus on essential day-to-day survival, such as food and housing, as well as developing new skills that lead to independence through education, training, and work. Whether you need help keeping the heat on today or want help planning for your career of tomorrow, CSC is here to help.

Everyone deserves a place to call home, and CSC staff can help.  CSC has programs to help people who are homeless, and assistance for households facing eviction. Contact your local CSC office to find out if you qualify.

CSC provides utility/energy assistance, primarily funded by the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to help our community with basic essentials that everyone needs and deserves. Our passionate energy assistance staff work with clients and local energy providers to assist low-income community members by paying towards their utility bills, no shut off notice or late bill required!

We provide home weatherization to qualifying households in order to increase energy savings and make homes more comfortable during the cold and warm seasons. We do this through our federally-funded Weatherization Assistance Program.

Linn Benton Food Share provides 5 million pounds of food to our local community through a network of 68 non profit partners. These include food pantries, meal sites, gleaning groups and supplemental agencies.

We provide free preschool education to children ages 3-5 years old in a nurturing learning environment that includes parents as important resources for their children’s learning. Head Start focuses on the “whole child” and includes the child’s educational, health, family, and social needs.

We offer an array of employment and educational programs for youth, young adults, adults and the whole family. We know each person and family is different, so we offer something that speaks to everyone so we can build a stronger community. While all of our education and employment programs can stand alone, we also weave programs together based on individual needs to provide wrap-around services that lead to long-term success
